The Moolamantra Of Lord Maraprabhu (The Primal Chant)

“Brahmanda Sarwaswavum

Jeddhare vazhikkumee

[Brahmnad – the whole universe, Sarwaswam – All, Jeddhare – womb, Vahikkume – carrier, Mara Amara – Mortal and Immortal]

Meaning

CONSTRUCTIONAL DETAILS OF MARAPRABHU

Thousands of Artists worked hard for months together to complete this holy idol, which is constructed in terracotta.

Thousands of different types of herbs were used in the thanthric construction of this idol, which is 52 feet tall.

The idol Lord Mraprabhu is the material embodiment of all the medicinal herbs all over the world. Lord Maraprabhu is the whole and complete symbol of the eternal potentialities of medicinal herbs. This idol, which is installed in the Sreevalsam of Guruvayoor devaswam, is one of the biggest terracotta idols in the world. The spiritual energy generated instantaneously at the sight of Lord Maraprbhu is capable of curing all ailments. Those who have found medicines ineffective even after years of treatment will be healed miraculously and will also gain Abheeshtasiddhi at the very sight of this wonderful idol.

This idol sculptured in the traditional terracotta style, is also a symbol of the bond between man and clay. This idol with its trunk sucking at the deeper most essence of the earth for sustenance, with the eyes of Sun sparkling into Eternity; with the crown overflowing with boughs charged with the herbal power will be a powerful antenna of the world. The grace that emanates from Lord Maraprabhu will harmonies the human mind and awaken his subconscious. The idol Lord Maraprabhu will spread happiness in the world till the end of time. THE TEMPLE MYTH OF LORD MARAPRBHU & GURUVAYOORAPPAN

Once a deep devotee of Lord Sree Guruvayoorappan, named Poonthanam, while chanting Vishnu Sahasranama at the temple in font of the Sreekovil, another Sanskrit scholar named Melpathur Bhattathiri happened to come there. On hearing the chanting of Poonthanam – “Padmanabho Maraprbho” Bhattathiri made fun of Poonthanam. He told Poonthanam that it should be Amaraprabho and not Maraprbho. Poonthanam felt very sad and dejected. While he was sitting in this sad condition, there came an “Asareeri” (Divine Sound of God) from the Sreekovil. “ I am Amaraprbhu as well as Maraprbhu”.Maraprabhu is the Lord of all tress, herbs and Bhuvana. Idol Maraprabhu is the visualization of that divine sound of Bhagavan

Lord Marapraphu – Silpa Incarnation of Lord Sree Guruvayoorappan

Maraprabhu is the biggest terracotta idol. It stands in the Guruvayoor Sreevalsom Devaswam compound, 45 meters away from the main idol Lord Guruvayoorappan. This Silpa Incarnation of the Lord Maraprabhu is 52 ft tall. Millions of devotees throng to this rare idol every year for mental peace and to get relief. Maraprabhu is the myth and the total embodiment of the Vishnu Sahasranama.


HISTORY OF LORD MARAPRABHU

The Guruvayoor Devaswam holy idol Lord Maraprbhu is located 45 mtrs away from the main idol Lord Guruvayoorappan and adjacent to the idol of Sri Guruvayoor Keshavan, the Holy Elephant situated at devaswam premises. This Maraprabhu idol, which is thronged, by millions of devotees annually from all over the world, is designed and dedicated to Lord Sree Guruvayoorappan by the World renowned sculptor Mr. P.V. Ramachandran. He is the director of ‘Shilpayagam Creations’, Aluva. Mr. P.V.Ramachandran is not only a sculptor but also a Siddha and an Avadhoot Yogi himself and also has designed and constructed holy idols of similar capacities earlier at different parts of India.
Mr. P.V. Ramachandran’s design work of Maraprbhu has been approved and accepted by Guruvayoor Devaswam Committee and the Chief Thanthrics. Mr. Polakulath Narayanan, a deep devotee of Sree Guruvayoorappan has laid the foundation stone for this idol. He has offered all the materials, required for the construction of this idol, as an offering to Lord Guruvayoorappan. The Bhoomi Pooja and Foundation Stone Pooja was carried out by the then Chief Thanthric of Guruvayoor Temple, Sri Chennas Divakaran Namboothiripad. Thousands of traditional artists lead by Brahmashilpi Sri. P.V. Ramachandran completed the work with day and night efforts. The idol was dedicated to the world by the then Industrial Minister of India, Sri. Karunakaran, a deep devotee of Lord sree Guruvayoorappan. 2500 litres of milk was offered as Abhisheka to Lord Maraparambu by Kashitheertha Swamiji. Special Shakthi Pooja and Prana Pooja were offered under the supervision of His Holiness Mysoor Sree Ganapathy Sachidananda Swamiji. Thousands of famous Siddhas and Avadhoothas blessed the ceremony and offered Prana Pooja to this idol. Now, a lot of people from different parts of the world visit Guruvayoor and worship this holy idol Lord Maraprabhu.

It is been 15 years since Maraprabhu has incarnated on the earth,in the auspisious premises of the holy land Guruvayoor. Maraprabhu is one of the instruments of the mystic archetype,MahaVishnu for cleansing the deserved Human Souls,no doubt. An elemental kanaka prabha, the Chaitanya for maraprabhu has being envisioned by Masters and being commissioned. This inevitably creates immense opportunity for the blessed devotees to materialize this mission.

Artist P.V.RAMACHANDRAN is an instrument of God does monuments and stupas. He is not only an Artist but also a Sidda and Yogi. He is born in Kerala in the year 1959. Crores of people all over the world visited his works every year at Guruvayoor and Mysore.
